Getting the best SoundFont render
- Pick a SoundFont that matches the source — a piano .sf2 for a piano melody, strings for a sustained lead — so the render sounds natural.
- Transcription is most accurate on monophonic sources; a clean single melody re-renders far better than a dense mix.
- A good SoundFont can mask small transcription errors, but obvious wrong notes are easier to fix in the MIDI editor first.
- Smaller, single-instrument .sf2 files render fastest and most predictably.
